Last Child part i

March melted the snows of February and soon gave way to April and May. The warmth of Spring ushered in the the traditional school events...and more lasts~~the last prom and graduation celebrations, the last of my school volunteer days, and the last summer as "family."

Though Rebeka's prom and graduation dresses are still hanging in the hallway with her chords and medal wrapped around the hanger, invitations have long since been sent, classes and tests long done, books forgotten, and parties nothing but a memory.

The kids had long been making prom plans, and everything was already in order weeks before the big event!  This year's best "prom invite" has to go to Kanaan!  That was awesome!

The day came filled with hair appointments, makeup and nails, and last-minute errands...An emergency crisis taught us some really creative ways to manage prom dress issues!!!  When all was said and done, Rebeka came down in the fullness of her princessness!

And it was picture time!

This year, we hosted the prom dinner instead of the after prom party! I never knew my little house could hold so many people! With the house all decorated and everyone all decked out, the parents served the kids just like they were in a restaurant, complete with menus!

Serving. Wow! The faces of these young men and women were priceless as we served them. I think they were totally moved by it all!!! Unbelievably, we finished in plenty of time before the limos showed up!

The limos were loaded, and we were all off to Opry Mills for the Senior Presentation and dances before leaving them to the biggest night of their highest school years!

I did tear up a bit during the Daddy/Daughter dance!

Party at the Prices and the end to a beautiful evening with a gorgeous sunrise! Then on to the next destination: breakfast!

The lady in red...she's growing up and her mind is filled with happiness and wonderful memories of friends that made this a magical evening.

end part 1
